1. ORIGIN
A local variety of Thanh Tan commune, Mo Cay district, Ben Tre province. Now popularly grown in Ben Tre, Tien Giang, Vinh Long, Soc Trang, Ba Ria – Vung Tau etc. Currently conserved in the South Fruit Research Institute – one of the members of the National Plant Genetic Resource Network.

2. MAIN CHARACTERISTICS
– Seedlings (from grafting) fruit 2.5 – 3.5 years after planting, Fruiting time: and all the year round, but mostly in August – November.
– Time from flowering to fruit harvest: 7 – 7.5 months. Plants with 14 years old yield over 100 fruits per year.
– Fruits with 1.5 – 2.5 kg in weight, sphere shape, green or yellowish green skin which is easily to peel, pink juicy sweet flesh (brix of 9.5 – 12%) with nice aroma. Each fruit has 10 – 30 seeds
– High nutrition and medicine values.
3. CULTIVATION AND USE
– Planting time: May – June. Soils: with thick A layer of at least 0.6 m, light structure and pH of 5.5. – 7.0; easily to be drained.
