International meeting on sharing research outcomes in Southeast Asia and the Asia-pacific region

With the approval of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Plant Resources Center, Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences in coordination with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), organized a regional project meeting to share research outcomes related to plant breeding and technical cooperation with the IAEA from March 18 to 22, 2024 in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The meeting aimed to share research results within the IAEA’s technical cooperation program among the member countries of the IAEA; to discuss issues of technical cooperation of the IAEA; and to develop a strategy for close cooperation and exchange of information, knowledge, materials, etc., between the countries and the possibility of scientific publication.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the IAEA, and member countries participating in the technical cooperation program, including 14 member countries from Southeast Asia and the Pacific region.

The opening remarks were made by representatives from the IAEA, the Director General of the Plant Resources Center, the Chairman of the Vietnam Seed Association, and Dr. Hoang Thi Hue – the Vietnamese project coordinator and the contact person for organizing this meeting.

Besides the main agenda at the Army Hotel, based in 1A Nguyen Tri Phuong Street, Quan Thanh Ward, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi; the meeting also visited the Plant Resources Center, located at An Khanh, Hoai Duc, Hanoi.
